DECREPIT 2012

Ballarat, 1894. Revered statesman, Lawrence Wrinkle, is found deceased in the bedroom of his estate. Two suspects. Two stories. One Truth. DECREPIT pays homage to the wonderfully menacing and vivid worlds crafted by the filmmakers of German Expressionism.

‘Decrepit’ was an opportunity to experiment and get creative. Shot entirely in studio, the aim was to transport the fragmented and artistic aesthetics of classic German Expressionism into a uniquely Australian context. Playing with abstracted sets, strong contrast and a geometric motifs created a bold design which was so fun to put together. Add to that the challenge of designing for black and white and you’ve got one great learning experience!
